| I was lucky enough to be flying into this event, and our East coast team manager, Joey Scarborough, had gotten there the day before and taken care of our load-in. I managed to get caught up with the riders and get my bike put together so it was off to grab a bite to eat before we get to the show (covention centers are notorious for charging $8 for a cheeseburger, so even McD's sounds good 3 days in a row.) It's never an exciting thought to fly and perform on the same day...my equalibrium is always a bit off and I might just be using that as an excuse as to why I crashed twice in the first show. Either that or I could try and convince you it's because I know the crowd likes to see a little of the crash and burn and I'm not one to let the fans down. Or, I could come up with a dozen other reasons too (I had to get used to the ramps, the performance area was too small, it was colder then I'm used too...I'm a vetran to shows, I know all the excuses, hahaha). At any rate, I still felt that the first nights shows went off!!! Joey Scarborough always brings fun and laughter to the show, and in addition, he brought his girlfriend Sarah, which was great, because I was able to talk her into shooting many of the photos during our shows! Thanks soo much Sarah!!! We made a pretty quick bee line back to our hotel where Dan and Ron made sure to start a weekend that would be talked about amongst team riders for a while (for further details, you're going to have to talk to them...I had to catch up on some well needed sleep, and the most I could tell would be rumors at best!) |
